Job Summary

Responsibilities
- Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up dental instruments, and ensuring all equipment is functioning properly in accordance with infection control protocols.
- Assist dentist during various procedures such as restorations, extractions, endodontics, prosthodontics, and implants, providing chairside support with precision and care.
- Take and develop dental X-rays using advanced imaging technology like 3D scanners, ensuring high-quality images for accurate diagnosis.
- Manage patient records by updating electronic medical records (EMR systems) such as OpenDental while maintaining HIPAA compliance to protect patient privacy.
- Educate patients on oral health practices, post-treatment care, and dental terminology to promote understanding and cooperation.
- Monitor vital signs and medical history of patients when necessary, especially in medically complex cases.
- Uphold strict aseptic techniques and infection control standards to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff.
- Collaborate with the team in general dentistry procedures while demonstrating knowledge of anatomy, dental terminology, and medical documentation practices.
Experience
- Prior experience working in a dental clinic setting is highly preferred
- Proficiency with EMR systems with OpenDental is essential for managing patient data efficiently.
- Demonstrated knowledge of infection control protocols and aseptic techniques to maintain a sterile environment.
- Hands-on experience with dental radiography including X-ray procedures and 3D imaging technology is required.
- Familiarity with medical terminology, medical documentation standards, and medical coding enhances your ability to support comprehensive patient care.
- Strong understanding of dental assisting procedures such as four-handed dentistry and chairside support ensures seamless procedure flow.
