This job opportunity is with a planned start date of 15th August 2025
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with the preparation of pastries, desserts, baked goods, and plated sweets as per recipes and presentation standards.
- Handle daily mise en place for the pastry section.
- Follow instructions from senior chefs regarding recipes, portion sizes, and presentation.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of pastry stations and storage areas.
- Operate pastry equipment (mixers, ovens, etc.) safely and efficiently.
- Assist in stock rotation and proper storage of ingredients.
- Support in the production of pastry items for à la carte, buffet, banquet, and room service menus.
- Adhere to food safety and hygiene standards at all times (e.g., HACCP).
- Report any issues with food quality or kitchen equipment promptly.
Qualifications
- 1–2 years of experience in a professional pastry kitchen or bakery.
- Basic pastry knowledge (e.g., cakes, doughs, tarts, mousses).
- Culinary or pastry certification from a recognized institution preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and eagerness to learn.
- Ability to work flexible shifts, including weekends and public holidays.
- Good communication skills and ability to work in a team.
