Responsibilities

  • Perform patient intake procedures, including collecting medical histories and documenting vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, respiration, and temperature.
  • Assist healthcare providers with clinical tasks like administering medications, drawing blood, and supporting procedures and injections.
  • Support clinic-based teams by managing patient care activities
  • Operate Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems efficiently to document patient encounters accurately and ensure compliance with healthcare regulations.
  • Conduct basic physiology and anatomy assessments to support diagnosis and treatment planning.
  • Prepare exam rooms, sterilize equipment, and assist with minor procedures in outpatient clinics
  • Provide exceptional patient service by answering questions, explaining procedures clearly, and ensuring a welcoming environment for diverse populations including geriatrics.
  • Support ICD coding processes for billing accuracy and assist with medication administration following safety protocols.

Requirements

  • Valid certification as a Medical Assistant from an accredited program; current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
  • Proven experience in clinical settings such as hospital medicine, urgent care, outpatient clinics or medical-surgical units.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, anatomy, ICD coding standards, and medication administration protocols.
  • Experience working within EHR systems
  • Ability to perform vital signs collection accurately and efficiently; experience with inpatient care or ICU environments is desirable.
  • Strong communication skills with a focus on patient service excellence; ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams across various specialties including dermatology and internal medicine.
