Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and energetic Catering Captain to lead our catering service team with enthusiasm and professionalism who is ready to hit the ground running. Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate all aspects of catering operations, including food preparation, presentation, and service delivery.
- Lead and train catering staff to ensure high standards of customer service, food handling, and safety protocols are maintained.
- Manage inventory control for catering supplies, ingredients, and equipment to optimize stock levels and reduce waste.
- Oversee food production processes, ensuring quality consistency and adherence to recipes and presentation standards.
- Utilize POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS for order processing, billing, and cash handling with accuracy.
- Coordinate with clients to understand event requirements, customize menus, and ensure timely setup and breakdown of catering events.
- Monitor shift management schedules, assign tasks efficiently, and supervise staff performance during busy periods.
- Uphold food safety standards in compliance with health regulations; conduct regular kitchen inspections and staff training on sanitation practices.
- Assist in budgeting efforts by controlling costs related to food production, staffing, and supplies while maintaining excellent service levels.
- Support team development through interviewing potential staff members, conducting training sessions, and fostering a positive work environment.
Experience
- Proven experience in food service management within casual dining or fine dining establishments; catering experience preferred.
- Demonstrated supervisory or team management experience in a restaurant or hospitality setting.
- Strong background in food preparation, cooking techniques, and kitchen management practices.
- Familiarity with POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS; cash handling experience essential.
- Knowledge of inventory control procedures, food safety regulations, and sanitation standards.
- Experience managing shift schedules, budgeting responsibilities, and staff training initiatives.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to handle client interactions professionally and efficiently.
