Cashier – Food and Beverage
A Food and Beverage Cashier is responsible for totaling and processing guest food and beverage purchases in the hotel’s continuing effort to deliver outstanding guest service and financial profitability.
What will I be doing?
As a Food and Beverage Cashier, you would be responsible for totaling and processing guest food and beverage purchases in the hotel’s continuing effort to deliver outstanding guest service and financial profitability. Specifically, you would be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:
- Greet and acknowledge guests upon check-out from food and beverage outlet
- Ensure the proper recording of sales by opening checks in the point-of-sale system and closing them by charging the appropriate method of payment
- Accurately total, process and collect payments from guests to include, but not limited to, using the point-of-sale system, handling money, processing credit cards, making change and processing gift certificates and cards
- Ascertain guest satisfaction and work to resolve any guest issues or concerns, enlisting the assistance of a supervisor, if necessary
- Respond to guest inquiries and requests in a timely, friendly and efficient manner
- The proper accounting for and handling of both the daily cash receipts, as well as the assigned cash float
- Ascertain that all charged sales are correct and that the guest’s signature is on the receipt
- Preparare the cashier’s daily report
- Answer the phone on a courteous way
- Has complete knowledge of menu and of the daily specials and events
- Keep informed of all the activities of the Hotel, hours of operations and menus of all Food & Beverage areas and any special projects going on in the operation
- Know, understand and comply with the established procedures of the point-of-sale system
- Working areas should be kept clean and organized at all times
- Ensure a positive personal presentation (which includes the careful attention to uniform, hair, nails and others)
