Job Summary

As a Cashier, your role is to make sure everyone has a great time at the restaurant. You’ll be friendly, take orders, and suggest things if needed. You will handle payments and bring food and drinks to customers, whether they’re sitting at a table, or take to their vehicle. You will also prepare orders and pack them up for takeout. Your goal is to give customers an awesome dining experience!

Roles and Responsibilities

Precision and speed in executing assigned tasks:

Promotion and Work Ethic:

1. Promote, work, and act in a manner consistent with the mission of Chino-Mex, committed to delivering the best products/services with the highest quality and friendliest experience possible.

Customer Service:

1. Serve food, beverages, and/or desserts to customers.

2. Fill containers with requested beverages.

3. Take guests’ orders and write ordered items on tickets, giving ticket stubs to customers when needed to identify filled orders.

4. Deliver orders to the kitchen and pick up and serve food when it is ready.

Cash Handling:

1. Prepare bills for food and accept payment or make change.

2. Balance receipts and payments in cash registers.

Food Preparation:

1. Prepare food items, such as items for the salsa bar, ex. chips, lemons, cilantro etc., according to standard portion sizes and recipe specifications or following directions. Finalize orders to be delivered in a timely manner.

2. Prepare food menu items such as consommé, hot entrees, and desserts for serving or takeout.

3. Pack orders for call-ins or pickups.

Cleaning and Sanitation:

1. Perform cleaning duties such as sweeping, mopping, and restocking, to keep equipment and facility sanitary.

2. Scrub and polish counters, steam tables, windows, and other equipment, clean glass windows, dishes, and fountain equipment.

3. Replenish food at serving stations and order food for the steam bar as needed.
