Job Summary
We are seeking a friendly and detail-oriented Cashier to join our retail team. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional customer service, handle transactions accurately, and contribute to a positive shopping experience. Experience with POS systems, cash handling, and retail sales is preferred. Bilingual skills and supervising experience are a plus. This role involves engaging with customers, managing product demos, and supporting merchandising efforts in a fast-paced grocery store environment.

Responsibilities

• Operate POS systems efficiently to process transactions accurately
• Greet customers warmly and provide excellent customer service
• Handle cash, credit, and debit transactions with precision and integrity
• Assist customers with product inquiries and upselling opportunities
• Conduct product demos to promote new or featured items
• Maintain merchandising standards by stocking shelves and organizing displays
• Support inventory management through stock replenishment and inventory checks
• Uphold phone etiquette when answering customer inquiries or assisting via phone
• Ensure the checkout area remains clean, organized, and welcoming
• Collaborate with team members to achieve sales goals and improve store operations

Experience

• Previous cashier or retail sales experience preferred, especially in grocery stores or similar environments
• Familiarity with POS systems and basic retail math for cash handling and sales calculations
• Strong communication skills, including bilingual abilities, are advantageous
• Supervising experience is a plus for candidates interested in leadership roles
• Ability to perform basic math accurately for transactions and inventory counts
• Customer service skills that foster positive interactions and resolve issues effectively
