Position Summary

Provides the highest level of food service possible in an efficient, courteous, personable, and professional manner to ensure a positive guest experience.

Our staff prides itself on providing outstanding hospitality to our guests, and our Breakfast team is a significant part of this.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The following essential duties may be carried out with or without reasonable accommodation:

  • Welcomes and greets guests in a professional, friendly manner.
  • Sets up and breaks down each morning’s breakfast buffet.
  • Ensures all food items remain well-stocked and at a safe temperature.
  • Maintains safety and appearance of the area.
  • Cleans the area and restocks breakfast items in preparation for the next day.
  • Maintains superior standards of quality, service, and cleanliness in the breakfast area, kitchen, and storage rooms.
  • Consistently maintains a neat, organized, and clean workspace and uniform.
  • Ensures coffee service is set up, continually stocked, and cleaned according to standard.
  • Conducts inventory of supplies and places orders on a regular basis, ensuring appropriate stock levels.
  • Assists management in creating menu.
  • Follows all cleaning, safety, and food service standards of the hotel and of federal, state, and local laws.
  • Follows all policies and procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Basic knowledge of equipment operation: commercial dishwasher, freezers, ovens, warmers, and similar equipment.
  • Basic knowledge of and ability in different methods of food preparation.
  • Knowledge of principles, values, and processes for providing superior guest service.
  • Basic knowledge of menu production.
  • Basic knowledge of general cleaning principles, use of cleaning products, and operation of basic cleaning equipment
  • General knowledge of chemical use/safety data sheet (SDS) protocols, bloodborne pathogens, and food safety best practices.
  • Ability to project a professional, friendly, and courteous image to guests.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule that can include weekends and holidays.
  • Able to perform a wide variety of tasks during busy/stressful times.
  • Ability to prioritize competing demands.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to collaborate across departments.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs. with or without assistance.
  • Ability to crouch, kneel, and reach to perform set up and restocking.
  • Ability to scrub and scour surfaces, extending arms over head, bending and stooping to perform cleaning tasks
  • Ability to perform repetitive manual tasks, such as chopping vegetables.
