Breakfast Attendant – Hawkeye Hotels

JOB DESCRIPTION

JOB TITLE: Breakfast Attendant

POSITION: Non- Exempt

RESPONSIBLE TO: General Manager/Front office Manager

Scope and General Purpose

To provide guest food and beverage service in a safe and aesthetic manner for breakfasts, hospitality hours, and/or meeting rooms.

***The working schedule is solely based upon the needs of the hotel

business, meaning that the hours worked are directly

affected by the hotel’s occupancy. ***

Main Duties

1. Practices customer service behaviors, such as listening, initiative, responsiveness, cheerfulness, accommodation, courtesy, honesty, and professionalism.

2. Demonstrates positive Team spirit providing assistance to other Team members as necessary to achieve required standards of productivity and guest care.

3. Makes decisions in the best interest of the property and in compliance with all applicable policies and procedures.

4. Ensures the breakfast service is set up and maintained by time designated by company/brand policies.

5. Ensures that the meeting room/hospitality hour (if applicable) is set up and serviced as per property/brand/company standards.

6. Ensures that food & beverage (including utensils, napkins, etc.) are displayed in an aesthetic manner.

7. Prepares/replenishes items maintaining quality of the presentation and choice with attention to guest count in- house.

8. Keeps breakfast area clean, neat, and tidy.

9. Organizes, cleans, and stocks food and beverage storage and service areas as needed.

10. Rotates food and beverage and stock items according to expiration date.

11. Completes food/hygiene certification where required by state laws.

12. Sets up meeting rooms as per brand/company/property policy and as per customer requirements as identified on meeting room sales documentation.

13. Tests equipment to be used in meeting rooms prior to meeting room set up.

14. Ensures all storage, cabinets, pantry areas are clean, organized, and secured throughout and at the end of the working shift.

15. Maintains inventory and prepares purchase requests for supplies needed, consistent with business levels and budgets prepared by management.
