Job Summary

A respected Emirati family is seeking a highly experienced and professional Personal Yacht Captain to safely operate and manage a private luxury yacht. The successful candidate will be responsible for navigation, maintenance, safety, trip planning, and ensuring the yacht is always presented to the highest standards. This position requires discretion, flexibility, and a strong service-oriented attitude.

Key Responsibilities

• Safely operate and navigate the private yacht.
• Plan routes, voyages, and itineraries based on owner requirements and weather conditions.
• Ensure compliance with all UAE maritime regulations and safety standards.
• Perform routine inspections and oversee preventive maintenance.
• Coordinate repairs, servicing, fueling, and provisioning.
• Maintain navigation, communication, and safety equipment.
• Keep accurate maintenance logs and voyage records.
• Prepare the yacht before each trip and ensure it is clean and guest-ready.
• Assist the owner, family members, and guests during boarding and cruising.
• Operate and maintain tenders, jet skis, and other watercraft when required.
• Liaise with marinas, suppliers, and service providers.
• Supervise additional crew when engaged.
• Maintain complete confidentiality regarding the family’s personal affairs.
• Be available to work weekends, public holidays, and overnight or extended trips as required.

Requirements

• Valid Yacht Master or equivalent Captain’s license appropriate for the vessel.
• Minimum 3 years of experience as a captain on private or luxury yachts.
• Experience operating motor yachts.
• Strong knowledge of yacht systems, maintenance, and safety procedures.
• Excellent navigation and boat handling skills.
• Good spoken and written English.
• Professional appearance and excellent customer service skills.
• Honest, reliable, and able to maintain strict confidentiality.
• Experience working with VIP, private family, or royal household clients is highly preferred.

Preferred Qualifications

• UAE or GCC boating experience.
• Basic mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
• Experience with luxury hospitality and guest service.
• Ability to manage yacht maintenance schedules and vendor coordination.
• Experience as captain for yacht (99ft -110 ft or more) for more than 3 years
• Experience handling Caterpillar engine & Generator
