Full job description
The Historic Flanders Hotel is currently hiring a Banquet Lead Cook. We host a variety of receptions and special events throughout the year, and we need a dedicated Lead Cook to ensure our guests have a delicious and memorable meal. You will train with our Executive Chef to learn how to prepare each of our menu items quickly and efficiently to serve a large crowd. Previous professional cooking experience in a high-volume kitchen is a plus. You will also need to monitor supply inventory, and ensure the kitchen and all cooking tools and equipment are clean.
Responsibilities include:
- Lead, train, and mentor banquet cooks, delegating daily prep and cleaning tasks.
- Prepare large-volume food items for buffets or plated meals, ensuring proper temperature and presentation.
- Read banquet event orders (BEOs), estimate food requirements, and manage station mise en place.
- Maintain strict sanitation and safety standards to keep workstations clean.
- Monitor inventory, rotate stock, and report food shortages to the Executive Chef.
