Lead Park Operations in One of Ontario’s Most Remarkable Wilderness Areas

As Assistant Park Superintendent, you will support a diverse team across campground operations, remote entry stations, and interior crews. Your leadership will keep communication strong, morale high, and day today operations running smoothly in one of Ontario’s most rewarding natural settings.

As the Assistant Park Superintendent, you will:
- Assist in providing leadership and supervision to a team within the parks as you deliver the Ministry of the Environment, Conservation and Parks / Ontario Parks mandate with a focus on ecological sustainability.
- Assist in the planning, organizing, and implementation of business, resource management and operational activities.
- Provide assistance on human resources activities such as recruitment, training and evaluation of staff, assigning work schedules and managing performance.
- Monitor park programs through an audit process to ensure compliance with cash handling policies, Park Discovery Program guidelines, compliance with accepted enforcement practices and techniques and regard for employee and public safety.
- Prepare tenders and purchases materials, maintains expenditure control against allocated budget, administers service contracts and concession agreements.
- Participate in the preparation and updating of the risk management plan and direct the implementation of action identified to ensure duty of care with respect to the public use.
- Take enforcement action as required as a Park Warden involving serious/sensitive violations as well as providing leadership during park emergency situations.

With 30 years of combined experience, Jason leads with a collaborative, people first approach that emphasizes communication, shared purpose, and collective problem solving. He oversees diverse operational teams across one of Ontario’s signature wilderness parks and is known for fostering a supportive environment where staff feel empowered, valued, and connected to both each other and the park’s mission. Jason prioritizes teamwork as the foundation of effective park management, encouraging open dialogue, mutual respect and continuous learning. He is committed to building strong working relationships with partners, communities, and internal teams alike. His leadership style creates a workplace where collaboration thrives and where the right candidate will be welcomed as an essential contributor to the park’s long-term stewardship.
