Job Overview
Discover Lodging Management is seeking a dynamic and experienced Assistant General Manager to join our team at The LaQuinta Inn & Suites located in Fargo, ND.

In this pivotal role, you will support the General Manager, ensuring exceptional customer service, efficient team performance, and smooth day-to-day operations. Your leadership will inspire staff, optimize sales strategies, and uphold our commitment to a positive guest experience. Your responsibilities include:

  • Supporting all departments, including front desk, housekeeping, maintenance, and food service
  • Assisting with the annual budget and monitoring sales and expenses
  • Inspecting the building, grounds, and equipment to ensure everything is well‑maintained
  • Helping develop and implement policies that support both guests and staff
  • Coordinating with the executive housekeeper to maintain an effective cleaning schedule
  • Managing inventory and completing daily reports.
  • Lead and supervise team members, providing coaching, training, and development to foster a high-performance culture
  • Manage employee orientation, interviewing, recruiting, and onboarding processes to build a strong team
  • Handle payroll processing, bookkeeping, cash handling, and PMS (Property Management System) with accuracy and integrity
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, safety regulations, and hotel operating procedures through effective supervision and communication Qualifications
  • Proven experience in assistant management or supervisory roles within hotel or resort environments
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage diverse teams effectively
  • Excellent communication skills (multiple languages or bilingual abilities are highly desirable)
  • You should feel confident working in a fast‑paced environment, be able to prioritize and delegate tasks, communicate clearly, and show genuine hospitality to every guest.
