Assistant Fitness Manager
The Assistant Fitness Manager (AFM) reports the General Manager and Fitness Manager and oversees all fitness and personal training products and services offerings of a Fitness World location. The AFM builds and maintains an engaged and high performing fitness team of Personal Trainers, and ensures a best in class fitness experience for our members. The AFM is also responsible for the achievement of financial results, member retention and satisfaction; execution of company policies, procedures and programs; and exemplifying the company’s culture and values.
Responsibilities:
People Management
- Ensure employees adhere to company policies, procedures and programs, including health and safety, member management, human resources, payroll, etc.
- Provide leadership to employees, including coaching, feedback, goal setting and performance management to support their long-term career and personal development.
- Conduct daily, weekly, monthly check-ins, development and training with employees.
Fitness Management:
- Achieve personal training and supplement goals through effective leadership and motivation of Personal Trainers.
- Implement personal training programs and promotions alongside the General Manager to achieve department goals, client acquisition and penetration of member base.
- Ensure Personal Trainers develop engaging and high-quality personal training programs for their clients that align with client goals.
- Ensure accurate administration of personal training products and services, measurement tracking, dotFIT usage and session redemption procedures.
- Immediately address cleanliness, health and safety concerns and incidents; and report incidents to the General Manager and Human Resources via the Accident & Incident Report Form.
- Foster strong relationships other departments and functional areas of the company, for example Accounting & Finance, HR & Payroll, IT, Marketing, Repairs & Maintenance, etc.

Education & Experience
- Active Personal Trainer Certification and First Aid Certification required
- Leadership and/or management experience in sales, retail or hospitality is preferred
- Effective communication, interpersonal and public speaking skills
- Has an exceptional work ethic
- Motivated self-starter and team player
