Summary: Plans, supervises, and coordinates Casino Audit and Compliance operations and personnel.

The intent of this position description is to provide a representative summary of the major duties and responsibilities performed by this position. Employee(s) may be required to perform position-related tasks other than those specifically listed in this description.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Monitors and assists in ensuring compliance with tribal gaming regulations, Minimum Internal Control Standards, and internal controls.
  • Manages and oversees Title 31/AML compliance program.
  • Reviews and verifies the accuracy of journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end close activities for Casino gaming and non-gaming transactions.
  • Oversees daily auditing operations for accuracy and completeness.
  • Develops and implements policies and procedures for gaming audits, nongaming audits, and the compliance program.
  • Coordinates and provides training in gaming and nongaming audit procedures.
  • Support external and internal audits by responding to inquiries and providing documentation.
  • Review SARs and CTRs for accuracy and completeness.
  • Assists in the review of monthly financial statements.
  • Assists the Controller in budget and KPI.
  • Provides management personnel with operational information.
  • Prepares and maintains a variety of departmental reports, records, and documentation.
  • Identifies control weaknesses and recommends corrective action.
  • Conducts and coordinates special projects as assigned.
  • Attends and participates in various meetings.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Interviews and trains employees.
  • Plans, assigns, and directs work; appraises performance; rewards and disciplines employees; addresses complaints and resolves problems for employees as well as guests.
  • Makes recommendations to the Manager and Director for hiring and staff separations in accordance with company policies.
  • Ensures the hiring, training, promoting, assigning, disciplining, and discharging of employees are in accordance with Tribal Law, including without limitation, the Tribal Employment Rights Ordinance (TERO).
