Job Summary
Join our team as a Part-time Activities Van Driver and play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for our residents. This energetic position involves safely transporting residents to various activities, appointments, and outings, ensuring they enjoy engaging experiences both within our community and beyond. The ideal candidate is compassionate, organized, and passionate about supporting senior well-being through engaging transportation services. MUST HAVE A VAILD US DRIVERS LICENSE. MUST BE ABLE TO LIFT 150lb UNASSISTED. MUST BE ABLE TO OPERATE A VAN LIFT

Duties

  • Safely operate the activities van to transport residents to scheduled outings, medical appointments, recreational events, and community activities.
  • Assist residents with boarding and disembarking the vehicle, providing support as needed for those with mobility challenges or disabilities.
  • Collaborate with activity coordinators to ensure timely pickups and drop-offs aligned with daily schedules.
  • Maintain cleanliness and safety checks of the vehicle before and after each use to ensure optimal condition.
  • Communicate effectively with residents, staff, and family members regarding transportation schedules and any special needs or concerns.
  • Support residents during outings by engaging in friendly conversation and promoting social interaction.
  • Follow all safety protocols related to vehicle operation, resident care, and adherence to traffic laws.

Skills

  • Proven experience in driving passenger vehicles, preferably in assisted living, nursing homes, or long-term care environments.
  • Strong knowledge of local routes, traffic regulations, and safe driving practices.
  • Excellent communication skills to interact warmly with seniors and team members.
  • Experience with event planning or coordinating outings is a plus.
  • Familiarity with Alzheimer’s care, dementia care, memory care, or recreational therapy enhances your ability to support residents’ needs effectively.
  • Ability to assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including mobility assistance when boarding or exiting the vehicle.
  • Compassionate attitude towards aging issues counseling and working with individuals with disabilities or special needs. Pay: $10.00 – $15.00 per hour
