Full job description
Job Responsibilities (including but not limited to):
- Under the guidance of the Executive Pastry Chef, prepares pastries, baked goods, and desserts for retail, farmers’ markets, catering, events, weddings, and more
- Prepares all desserts according to curated recipes and instructions
- Organizes pastry production in a cost-effective manner and in accordance with health and safety standards
- Always maintains assigned workstation in a safe and sanitary condition
- Complies with standards for personal hygiene and dress code
- Possesses knowledge of proper operation and maintenance of kitchen tools and equipment
- Restocks bakery display as needed
- Assists with FOH operations as needed
- Ability to lift and carry 30 lbs
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time
Qualifications
- At least 1 year of experience working as a pastry cook or baker in a bakery, hotel, restaurant, country club or other similar industry producing pastries, desserts and bread from scratch
- Ability to understand and follow instructions in English and communicate effectively
- Working knowledge of kitchen equipment operations and maintenance
- Understand measurements, conversions, and production schedules
- Comfortable working independently as well as with others
- Able to finish tasks quickly and efficiently
- Must be able to provide a pastry portfolio
