RESPONSIBILITIES:
We are seeking dedicated individuals to play a crucial role in supporting our licensed Funeral Directors and ensuring the respectful and compassionate care of deceased individuals and their families. As a Funeral Assistant, you will perform many of the same essential duties as a funeral director in a supportive capacity.
This role demands a combination of professionalism, deep compassion, and strict adherence to our high standards as you fulfill the following responsibilities:
- Assist with and facilitate funeral services, viewings, and visitations.
- Safely and respectfully make transfers of decedents into our care from care facilities, medical centers, homes, or “on-scene”.
- Assist with the operation of the crematory, maintaining the highest standards of respect and protocol.
- Coordinate closely with families, providing guidance and exceptional care under the direction of licensed staff.
- Maintain compassionate, emotionally supportive interactions with families at all times.
- Coordinate with Funeral Directors and clearly communicate important details.
- Comply with established procedures and be thorough in documentation.
- Uphold strict confidentiality and privacy standards.
- Note: In compliance with Idaho state law, this unlicensed role will strictly support licensed staff and will NOT independently conduct arrangement conferences with families, sign death certificates, or conduct burial/funeral services where the body is present.
- Must be able to lift and carry 80 pounds and pull objects 135 pounds.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Valid Driver’s License and a good driving record.
- Comprehensive on-the-job training provided.
- A genuine, caring heart with the emotional maturity to work in a sensitive and deeply compassionate environment.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow established procedures.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for coordinating with families and team members.
- Initiative to help other team members without instruction.
- Able to maintain strict confidentiality.
- Maintain professional demeanor and appearance.
