Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented Finance Assistant to support the Finance Department with daily accounting and administrative tasks. This role requires strong Excel skills, good computer proficiency, and a basic understanding of accounting principles. The ideal candidate is organized, reliable, and comfortable working with numbers and financial data.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with daily accounting and finance operations
- Maintain and update financial records and spreadsheets
- Prepare reports using Excel (tracking expenses, invoices, AR/AP, reconciliations, etc.)
- Support Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable processes
- Review invoices and supporting documentation for accuracy
- Assist with data entry into accounting and internal systems
- Organize financial files and documentation (digital and physical)
- Support month-end and year-end closing activities as needed
- Provide general administrative support to the Finance team
Qualifications & Requirements
- Basic knowledge of accounting principles (AP, AR, general ledger)
- Strong Excel skills (formulas, filters, pivot tables preferred)
- Good computer skills (Microsoft Office, email, data systems)
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Ability to handle confidential financial information
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate degree or coursework in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- Previous experience in a finance or accounting support role
- Experience working with accounting software (QuickBooks, Sage, or similar – a plus)
