Full job description

• Product Knowledge: Maintain an in-depth understanding of the ice cream menu, including flavors, ingredients, and seasonal offerings. Be prepared to recommend products based on customer preferences and dietary restrictions.
• Cash Handling: Operate the cash register efficiently, processing transactions accurately and handling cash, credit, and debit payments. Ensure that all financial transactions are documented and balanced at the end of each shift.
• Food Safety Compliance: Adhere to health and safety regulations, including proper food handling, storage, and sanitation practices. Ensure that all equipment and work areas are clean and organized to maintain a safe environment for both staff and customers.
• Inventory Management: Assist in monitoring stock levels of ice cream, toppings, cones, and other supplies. Help with inventory counts and notify management of low stock to ensure that popular items are always available.
• Preparation of Products: Prepare ice cream and related products, including scooping, blending, and serving. Ensure that all items are presented attractively and meet quality standards.
• Promotions and Upselling: Actively engage customers in promotions and upselling opportunities. Suggest add-ons, such as toppings or specialty items, to enhance the customer’s experience and increase sales.
• Team Collaboration: Work effectively with team members to ensure smooth operations during busy periods. Communicate openly and assist colleagues as needed to maintain a positive work environment.
• Cleaning and Maintenance: Participate in regular cleaning duties, including washing dishes, cleaning equipment, and maintaining a tidy shop. Ensure that all areas, including dining spaces and restrooms, are clean and inviting for customers.
• Handling Customer Feedback: Listen to customer feedback and resolve any issues or complaints in a professional manner. Use feedback to improve service and product offerings, ensuring customer satisfaction.
