Job Summary
As a Waiter/Waitress of Farriers Restaurant, you will be an essential part of our front-of-house team, ensuring guests receive outstanding service throughout their dining experience. You will welcome guests with professionalism and warmth, take and deliver orders accurately, and maintain an inviting atmosphere in the restaurant. With your attention to detail and commitment to guest satisfaction, you will help reinforce The Meydan Hotel’s reputation for exceptional hospitality.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Possess in-depth knowledge of all menu items, able to recommend and up-sell food and beverage options to guests.
- Greet every guest warmly and ensure their comfort upon arrival and departure.
- Prepare tables, trays, or trolleys and perform final checks before seating or serving guests.
- Introduce menus and specials, take accurate orders, and ensure correct entry into the ordering system.
- Serve food and beverages professionally, efficiently, and in accordance with hotel standards.
- Follow the correct sequence of service and maintain cleanliness and standard settings at all times.
- Address guests’ dietary or allergy needs and communicate these to relevant staff.
- Handle payments and guest charges with accuracy and integrity.
- Respond to guest inquiries courteously, resolve issues, or escalate them appropriately to supervisors.
- Build rapport with guests and maintain positive customer relationships.
- Adapt to different areas within the Food & Beverage Division as required.
- Comply with health, hygiene, and safety regulations, including HACCP standards.
- Perform opening and closing procedures for the assigned work area.
- Assist in inventory management and ensure careful use of supplies and equipment.
- Keep all work areas clean and organized, including cleaning and polishing glassware and utensils.
- Set up tables and bars according to established standards.
- Monitor and maintain par stock of operating supplies to minimize waste and ensure smooth operations.
- Report any discrepancies in food and beverage costs.
- Arrive for duty punctually in proper uniform and maintain high standards of personal hygiene and appearance.
- Maintain a positive, motivated attitude and participate in briefings and meetings regarding food service and preparation.
Skills and Experience Required
- Previous experience in a similar role within hospitality is preferred.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally with guests and team members.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced setting.
- Knowledge of food and beverage service standards and procedures.
- Ability to remain calm and composed under pressure, demonstrating a positive attitude at all times.
- Basic understanding of health, safety, and hygiene regulations.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays.
