Job Summary
The Waiter cum Cashier is responsible for providing excellent customer service by attending to guests, taking orders, serving food and beverages, and accurately handling billing and payment transactions. The role combines front-of-house service duties with cashier responsibilities to ensure smooth restaurant operations.
Key Responsibilities
As a Waiter:
- Greet customers and guide them to their tables
- Present menus and explain menu items, specials, and promotions
- Take accurate food and beverage orders and relay them to the kitchen
- Serve food and drinks in a timely and professional manner
- Ensure customer satisfaction and handle basic complaints politely
- Maintain cleanliness of tables, dining area, and service stations
As a Cashier:
- Prepare and issue accurate bills to customers
- Handle cash, card, and digital payments responsibly
- Operate POS system efficiently
- Balance cash drawer at the end of the shift
- Issue receipts and maintain transaction records
Additional Duties:
- Follow company policies on hygiene, safety, and customer service
- Assist team members during peak hours
- Report any issues related to orders, payments, or customer feedback to management
Requirements & Skills
- Previous experience as a waiter, cashier, or similar role preferred
- Basic math and cash-handling skills
- Familiarity with POS systems
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Honest, reliable, and well-groomed
Working Conditions
- Shift-based work, including weekends and holidays
- Standing for long periods
