AECOM is actively seeking a creative, motivated, and self-driven Transportation Planner to join our dynamic and highly technical team of planners and engineers in our Dubai, UAE office.

Our planning team plays a key role in delivering major urban development and infrastructure projects across the Middle East — driving innovation, sustainability, and smarter mobility solutions.

As a Transportation Planner, you will contribute to a wide range of transport planning and engineering studies, including Traffic Impact Assessments, Multi-Modal Transport Master Planning, Traffic Engineering, Capacity Assessments, and Access/Circulation Studies.

You will develop essential technical, business, and professional skills through project experience and mentorship.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in preparing transport planning deliverables — including designs, calculations, sketches, and diagrams.
• Build technical expertise using transport planning software such as Synchro, SIDRA, and GIS. (VISSUM is a plus).
• Contribute to high-quality design outputs by applying both creative and technical knowledge within project timelines.
• Work under supervision to deliver tasks according to agreed budgets and schedules.
• Participate in design progress and coordination meetings, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.
• Proactively seek information, opportunities to learn, and ways to add value to projects.
• Apply theoretical knowledge and problem-solving skills to real-world planning challenges.

Qualifications

Qualifications Minimum Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Planning, or other related quantitative field.
• Ability to work in a collaborative team setting.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Experience with traffic engineering software (SYNCHRO / SIDRA / HCS)
• Understanding of transport modelling software (STEAM + / PTV VISUM / PYV VISSIM).

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master’s degree in Urban Planning, Regional Planning, Transportation Planning, or a related field.
