Job Description


We are seeking a skilled and innovative Transport Planner to join our team in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. As a Transport Planner, you will play a crucial role in developing sustainable and efficient transportation solutions for our growing city and region.

  • Conduct comprehensive transportation studies and analyses to inform urban planning decisions.
  • Develop and maintain transportation models using advanced software tools.
  • Prepare detailed reports and presentations on transportation planning projects.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate transportation plans with broader urban development initiatives.
  • Analyze traffic patterns and propose solutions to improve mobility and reduce congestion.
  • Evaluate the impact of proposed developments on local and regional transportation systems.
  • Develop sustainable transportation strategies that align with environmental goals.
  • Engage with stakeholders, including government officials and community representatives, to gather input and present findings.
  • Stay updated on emerging trends and technologies in transportation planning.
  • Contribute to the preparation of proposals and project bids.
  • Mentor junior team members and provide technical guidance on projects.

Qualifications


Education:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
  • A Master’s degree in Transport Planning or Transportation Engineering is a significant advantage.
  • Professional Certification: Chartered status or professional accreditation (e.g., CEng, P.Eng., PTP (Professional Transportation Planner)) is highly regarded.

Professional Experience:

  • A minimum of 3-5 years of proven experience in UAE Projects including TMP, TIS, TIP and Transport/Traffic Studies.
  • Experience with transport modeling software (e.g., Cube, SIDRA, SYNCHRO, HCS+, AIMSUN…etc) is mandatory.
  • Demonstrable experience in preparing technical reports and presentations for UAE Projects.

Local Knowledge & Regulations:

  • Understanding of Local Guidelines: Familiarity with the ITC and ADQCC standards is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of Local Context: Awareness of the specific transport challenges in Al Ain and the UAE,

Key Personal Skills & Competencies

  • Analytical & Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to analyze complex data, identify trends, and develop practical, evidence-based solutions.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English. The ability to present technical information clearly to clients, stakeholders, and the public is essential. Arabic language skills are a significant advantage but not always mandatory.
  • Project Management: Ability to manage tasks, meet deadlines, and work within budgets.
  • Teamwork & Collaboration: Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team of engineers, urban planners, and architects.
