Full job description

The Receiving Clerk is responsible for receiving and inspecting all incoming goods to ensure accuracy, quality, and compliance with purchase orders and company standards before acceptance and storage.

Key Responsibilities

  • Receive deliveries from suppliers and vendors
  • Check quantity, quality, and condition of goods against purchase orders and invoices
  • Report damaged, expired, or incorrect items immediately
  • Prepare Goods Received Notes (GRN) and update receiving records
  • Coordinate with Storekeeper for proper storage of accepted items
  • Reject or return non-conforming items as per company procedure
  • Ensure proper documentation and signatures for all deliveries
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of receiving area
  • Follow food safety, hygiene, and health & safety standards
  • Coordinate with Purchasing and Finance departments for discrepancies

Qualifications & Skills

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous experience in receiving or warehouse operations preferred
  • Basic computer and documentation skills
  • Knowledge of inventory control and receiving procedures
  • Good communication and coordination skills
  • Attention to detail
