Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Storekeeper to manage the inventory and supply chain processes within our organization. The ideal candidate will have experience in warehouse management, procurement, and logistics, with a strong understanding of inventory control and materials handling. This role is crucial for ensuring that our operations run smoothly and efficiently, contributing to overall productivity and customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate inventory records and manage stock levels using warehouse management systems (WMS) and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.
- Oversee the shipping and receiving processes, ensuring that all materials are properly logged and stored.
- Coordinate with suppliers for purchasing and sourcing of materials, negotiating contracts to secure favorable terms.
- Conduct regular audits of inventory to identify discrepancies and implement process improvements as necessary.
- Utilize data analysis skills to forecast demand planning and optimize stock levels based on historical data.
- Implement best practices in supply chain management, including transportation planning and logistics coordination.
- Manage relationships with third-party logistics providers (3PL) to ensure timely delivery of goods.
- Assist in root cause analysis for inventory issues or discrepancies, providing solutions to prevent recurrence.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support production planning and order fulfillment processes.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations while operating forklifts and other warehouse equipment.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in warehouse distribution, inventory management, or related fields.
- Strong knowledge of supply chain analytics, materials management, and logistics principles.
- Proficiency in data collection and analysis tools such as SQL, Tableau, or similar software.
- Familiarity with transportation management systems (TMS) and freight operations.
- Excellent negotiation skills for vendor management and procurement activities.
- Ability to perform detailed analysis skills related to pricing, demand planning, and profit & loss assessments.
- Mechanical knowledge is a plus for understanding equipment used in warehouse operations.
- Experience with e-commerce platforms is desirable for managing online order fulfillment processes.
