Job Summary
The Safety Officer is responsible for implementing, monitoring, and enforcing health, safety, and environmental (HSE) standards at construction and industrial project sites. The role ensures compliance with UAE laws, company policies, and international safety standards to maintain a safe and accident-free workplace.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement and enforce HSE policies, procedures, and site safety rules.
- Conduct daily site inspections to identify hazards and unsafe conditions.
- Prepare and conduct Toolbox Talks, Safety Inductions, and training sessions.
- Monitor proper use of PPE by all workers and staff.
- Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses; prepare reports and corrective actions.
- Maintain safety records, permits, risk assessments, and method statements.
- Coordinate with project managers, supervisors, and subcontractors on safety matters.
- Ensure safety signage, barricading, fire protection, and emergency equipment are in place.
- Participate in safety audits and inspections by authorities or clients.
- Promote safety awareness and safe working practices on site.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Diploma or Degree in Safety, Engineering, or related field.
- NEBOSH / IOSH / OSHA certification (mandatory).
- Minimum 2–3 years experience in industrial or construction projects.
- Good knowledge of scaffolding, lifting operations, work at height, and confined spaces.
- Strong communication and reporting skills.
- Ability to work under site conditions.
