Restaurant Hostess

Job Summary:
Mado Restaurant is seeking a courteous, well-presented, and customer-focused Hostess to be the face of our dining experience. As a Hostess, you will be responsible for welcoming guests with warmth, managing reservations, and ensuring smooth seating operations to enhance customer satisfaction from the moment they arrive.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Greet and welcome guests with a positive and professional demeanor.
  • Manage reservations and walk-ins using a reservation system or logbook.
  • Coordinate seating arrangements to optimize table usage and minimize wait times.
  • Escort guests to their tables and provide menus.
  • Answer incoming calls, respond to inquiries, and assist with reservations or take-out orders if applicable.
  • Communicate guest preferences and special occasions to the service team.
  • Monitor dining room activity and assist in maintaining cleanliness and order.
  • Collaborate with the service and kitchen teams to ensure an efficient flow of guests.
  • Handle guest complaints or concerns with grace and professionalism, escalating issues when necessary.
  • Uphold Mado Restaurant’s standards of hospitality and presentation at all times.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in hospitality or front-of-house preferred.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Professional appearance and a warm, approachable attitude.
  • Ability to multitask and remain calm under pressure.
  • Flexible availability, including weekends, holidays, and evenings.
  • Basic computer or POS system knowledge is a plus.
  • Fluency in English; additional language skills are an advantage.
