The American University in the Emirates (AUE) is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Procurement & Logistics Coordinator to join our team. The position is responsible for sourcing, purchasing, and managing the procurement process for goods and services necessary to maintain the university’s facilities.

Salary Range: AED 4,000 – AED 5,000 plus additional benefits

Qualifications & Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field from an accredited university.
  • Certified Purchasing Professional (CPP) preferred.
  • Bilingual (Arabic and English) preferred.

Experience

  • 2–5 years of relevant procurement or logistics experience.

Skills / Knowledge / Training

  • Strong knowledge of procurement processes, policies, and procedures.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage budgets, contracts, and vendor relationships.
  • Effective liaison and coordination skills with other departments and vendors.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to work independently and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Familiarity with sustainability practices and initiatives.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Request, review, and recommend supplier quotations and proposals.
  • Establish and negotiate contract terms and conditions; maintain supplier relationships.
  • Prepare and maintain purchasing records, reports, and price lists.
  • Coordinate with departments/colleges to determine procurement needs, quality, and delivery requirements.
  • Follow up on damaged goods and coordinate necessary claims with suppliers.
  • Assist in developing specifications for equipment, materials, and services.
  • Administer contract performance, including delivery, receipt, warranty, and damages.
  • Oversee and ensure quality standards for the university’s snack vending machine.
  • Reconcile inconsistencies professionally and promptly.
  • Maintain comprehensive files (invoices, order numbers, receiving/shipping dates, etc.).
  • Prepare timely departmental reports.
  • Comply with and maintain knowledge of all applicable rules, legislation, regulations, standards, and best practices.
