As Mason you will be responsible for the following duties:

• Follow all company and safety and security policies and procedures; report any maintenance problems, safety hazards, accidents, or injuries
• To abide by all rules, regulations, policies, LQE, MOQA and Safe, Sound & Sustainable by Mandarin Oriental standards.
• To be responsible for retrieving and completing work orders as per policies and procedures in HotSoS.
• Complete safety training and certifications
• Attend meetings and trainings as requested
• Communicate each day’s activities and problems that occur to the other shifts using approved communication programs and standards.
• Identify and report the need for major repairs
• Carry out all tiles grouting and blocking and other assigned civil works duties within the premises
• Carry out preventive maintenance schedules for masonry jobs as directed by Superiors
• Repair, maintain and alter buildings, retaining walls and other brick or stone edifices
• Mix mortar, lay bricks and stones or concrete sidewalks and make and repair steps
• Install and repair tile floors or walls
• Read blueprints and plaster ceilings or walls
• Estimate masonry jobs and carry out carpentry work incidental to masonry work
• Undertake duties as assigned or emergency tasks (e.g. fixing the cabanas fences/pool steps)
• Assist tradespeople with Painter, Plumber and Carpenter
• Properly store flammable materials.
• Perform other duties as assigned by Engineering Supervisor or Assistant Director of Engineering

As Mason we expect from you:

• High school diploma; successful completion of an apprenticeship
• Proven experience as Mason
• Experience with hardware tools and electrical equipment
• Basic understanding of painting, plumbing or Carpentry
• Basic math skills
• Good communication ability
• Well-organized and apt in problem-solving
• Attention to details
