Full job description
Loading and unloading supervisor – all loading and unloading operations to ensure materials are handled safely, accurately, and efficiently. Key responsibilities include supervising staff, coordinating logistics and schedules, ensuring safety and compliance with regulations, verifying shipment contents, and maintaining records and reports.
Key responsibilities
- Operations oversight: Supervise and coordinate the daily loading and unloading.
- Staff management: Assign tasks, monitor performance, provide training to new employees, and resolve any issues or conflicts within the team.
- Safety and compliance: Enforce all safety regulations, conduct training, and ensure proper procedures are followed to prevent damage to goods and ensure the safety of workers.
- Coordination: Work with logistics, warehouse, and transport teams to manage schedules, routes, and the movement of materials to and from storage.
- Inventory and documentation: Verify the accuracy of loaded and unloaded materials against work orders or bills of lading, and maintain records of activities, materials, and crew performance.
- Problem-solving: Address operational challenges to improve workflow and efficiency.
- Equipment operation: May operate or supervise the operation of material handling equipment like forklifts, cranes, and conveyors.
