Job Description
Cleaning and Sanitation:
- Wash pots, pans, utensils, and kitchen equipment efficiently and thoroughly using industrial dishwashers and manual cleaning methods.
- Ensure all washed items are sanitized, dried, and stored correctly in their designated areas.
- Clean and sanitize all kitchen work surfaces, sinks, countertops, and floors.
- Assist in cleaning kitchen machinery (e.g., ovens, grills, fryers) and ventilation hoods as per the cleaning schedule.
- Manage kitchen waste disposal and recycling according to hotel standards and environmental policies.
Inventory and Organization:
- Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the stewarding area, pot wash, and storage areas.
- Assist in the inventory control of cleaning supplies and chemicals, reporting any shortages to the Stewarding Supervisor.
- Handle and store all kitchenware with care to minimize breakage and loss.
Safety and Compliance:
- Adhere to all HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point) standards and local Dubai Municipality health and safety regulations.
- Follow the correct procedures for handling and storing cleaning chemicals.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and hazard-free work environment.
- Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards immediately to the Stewarding Supervisor.
Teamwork and Support:
- Provide support to the culinary and service teams as required.
- Assist with banquet plate-ups and breakdowns for large events and functions.
- Perform any other reasonable duties as assigned by the Kitchen Management.
Qualifications
High School or equivalent
