Position Overview

The Steward ensures the cleanliness, sanitation, and smooth operation of the kitchen and dining areas. They support kitchen staff and ensure compliance with hygiene standards, assisting in maintaining a safe and organized working environment.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

· Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of all kitchen and dining areas, including floors, counters, tables, and equipment.

· Wash, sanitize, and store kitchen utensils, dishes, glassware, and cutlery.

· Assist chefs and kitchen staff in basic food preparation tasks as required.

· Dispose of garbage and kitchen waste in accordance with health and safety regulations.

· Ensure proper handling, storage, and rotation of food items and cleaning supplies.

· Monitor and report equipment malfunctions or maintenance needs.

· Follow all health, safety, and sanitation policies and procedures.

· Assist in receiving and storing deliveries, checking for quality and quantity.

· Support smooth operations during service hours, ensuring timely replenishment of supplies.

· Cooperate with other team members to maintain a positive working environment.

Requirements & Qualifications

· Education: High school diploma or equivalent preferred; vocational training in hospitality is a plus.

· Experience: Previous experience as a steward, kitchen assistant, or in a similar role preferred.

· Skills & Competencies:

· Knowledge of hygiene and sanitation standards.

· Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

· Physical stamina to handle long hours, lifting, and standing.

· Attention to detail and reliability.

· Other Requirements:

· Team player with good communication skills.

· Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.

· Valid work permit or eligibility to work in the region.
