Kitchen Staff / Kitchen Helper – Job Description

Overview:
You’ll be supporting the kitchen team in day-to-day operations, making sure everything runs smoothly, cleanly, and on time. This role is all about being quick on your feet, keeping things organised, and helping the cooks/chefs wherever needed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist chefs with basic food prep (chopping, washing, peeling, portioning).
  • Keep the kitchen clean and tidy at all times.
  • Wash utensils, equipment, and maintain dishwashing area.
  • Stock and restock ingredients, supplies, and cleaning materials.
  • Help with receiving and organising deliveries.
  • Follow hygiene, safety, and food-handling standards.
  • Support in plating, packing, or service during rush hours.
  • Dispose of waste properly and maintain overall kitchen sanitation.

Skills & Requirements

  • Basic understanding of kitchen operations (training can be provided).
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Good communication and teamwork.
  • Physical stamina for long hours and standing work.
  • Punctual, reliable, and willing to learn.
  • Prior experience is a plus but not mandatory.

Shift & Work Conditions

  • Flexible shifts (morning/evening/night depending on requirement).
  • Standing work; may involve lifting light to medium loads.
  • Uniform and hygiene standards must be followed.
