Kitchen Staff / Kitchen Helper – Job Description
Overview:
You’ll be supporting the kitchen team in day-to-day operations, making sure everything runs smoothly, cleanly, and on time. This role is all about being quick on your feet, keeping things organised, and helping the cooks/chefs wherever needed.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist chefs with basic food prep (chopping, washing, peeling, portioning).
- Keep the kitchen clean and tidy at all times.
- Wash utensils, equipment, and maintain dishwashing area.
- Stock and restock ingredients, supplies, and cleaning materials.
- Help with receiving and organising deliveries.
- Follow hygiene, safety, and food-handling standards.
- Support in plating, packing, or service during rush hours.
- Dispose of waste properly and maintain overall kitchen sanitation.
Skills & Requirements
- Basic understanding of kitchen operations (training can be provided).
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Good communication and teamwork.
- Physical stamina for long hours and standing work.
- Punctual, reliable, and willing to learn.
- Prior experience is a plus but not mandatory.
Shift & Work Conditions
- Flexible shifts (morning/evening/night depending on requirement).
- Standing work; may involve lifting light to medium loads.
- Uniform and hygiene standards must be followed.
