The Kitchen Assistant will assist in the preparation and cooking of food, maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen, and support the head chef in delivering high-quality meals. This role is ideal for someone passionate about food and eager to learn in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
- Assist the head chef in food preparation, including chopping, cooking, and plating dishes.
- Follow recipes and ensure consistency in food quality and presentation.
- Prepare ingredients by washing, peeling, and chopping vegetables, meat, and other items.
- Maintain kitchen cleanliness, ensuring all surfaces, equipment, and utensils are sanitized.
- Organize and store food supplies, checking for freshness and proper rotation.
- Help in the setup of kitchen stations and ensuring all place is ready for service.
- Support the head chef in managing kitchen stock and ordering supplies as needed.
- Adhere to health and safety guidelines, ensuring a safe and hygienic work environment.
- Clean and maintain kitchen equipment, including stoves, ovens, and refrigerators.
- Assist with dishwashing and general kitchen cleaning duties when required.
