Job Description:

  • Greeting and Seating Guests: Welcoming guests as they arrive at the restaurant, escorting them to their tables, and providing menus.
  • Managing Reservations: Taking and confirming reservations over the phone or online, noting special requests or preferences.
  • Coordinating Waitlist: Managing the waitlist during peak times, estimating wait times, and keeping guests informed about their status.
  • Communication Hub: Acting as a central point of communication between guests and the restaurant staff, relaying information about special requests, allergies, or preferences to servers.
  • Maintaining Lobby Area: Ensuring the lobby or waiting area is clean, organized, and welcoming for guests.
  • Assisting with Service Flow: Coordinating with servers and kitchen staff to ensure timely seating and smooth turnover of tables.
  • Handling Guest Concerns: Addressing guest concerns or complaints professionally and courteously, and escalating issues to management if necessary.
  • Upselling and Promotions: Informing guests about specials, promotions, or featured menu items to enhance their dining experience and increase sales.
  • Knowledge of Restaurant Operations: Having a good understanding of the restaurant layout, seating capacity, and operational procedures.
  • Team Collaboration: Collaborating with servers, bartenders, and management to ensure efficient operations and excellent customer service.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Proven experience in a customer service role, preferably within the hospitality industry.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills to interact effectively with guests and team members.
  • Strong organizational abilities to manage reservations and seating efficiently.
  • A customer-focused attitude with a dedication to providing exceptional service.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues to ensure seamless guest experiences.
