Job Description:
The Head Waiter / Head Waitress is responsible for overseeing daily restaurant service operations and ensuring exceptional guest experiences. This role leads and supports service staff, maintains service standards, and acts as a key point of contact between guests, kitchen, and management to ensure smooth, efficient, and high-quality food and beverage service.
Supervise and coordinate front-of-house service during shifts- Ensure service standards, presentation, and guest service procedures are consistently followed
- Welcome and engage with guests, addressing requests, concerns, or special needs promptly
- Assist with table assignments, reservations, and floor management
- Train, coach, and support wait staff to maintain high performance and service quality
- Coordinate with kitchen and bar teams to ensure timely and accurate service
- Monitor service flow and resolve operational issues during service periods
- Assist with opening and closing duties, including setup and breakdown
- Support inventory control, stock levels, and service equipment readiness
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and hygiene standards
- Handle guest feedback professionally and report issues to management
Desired Skill & Expertise:
- Proven experience as a waiter/waitress, preferably in a hotel
- Previous supervisory or leadership experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of food, beverages, and service etiquette
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to lead a team and work effectively under pressure
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
- Familiarity with POS systems and basic administrative tasks
- Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
