General Cleaner

Full job description

The Cleaning Operative is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and hygiene within the assigned areas of a facility. This role requires attention to detail, adherence to health and safety standards, and the ability to perform cleaning tasks efficiently as directed by the Supervisor.

Facility Cleaning and Maintenance

  • Clean and supply designated facility areas, including offices, restrooms, common areas, villas, apartments, and outdoor spaces.
  • Perform cleaning tasks such as vacuuming, sweeping, mopping, dusting, restroom sanitation, and cleaning ceiling vents.
  • Wash walls, glass windows, mirrors, upholstered furniture, and window coverings.
  • Pressure wash external areas, including roads, pavements, streetlight poles, fire hydrants, and external signages.
  • Collect windblown litter from roads, pavements, and walkways, ensuring cleanliness at all times.

Waste Management

  • Empty waste bins and receptacles, transporting waste materials to designated collection points.
  • Collect garbage daily from villas and ensure proper disposal in the common garbage room.

Stock and Equipment Management

  • Maintain and control the use of cleaning equipment, stock, and consumables.
  • Liaise with the team leader to ensure adequate cleaning supplies are available at all times.

Inspection and Reporting

  • Perform and document routine inspections and maintenance activities.
  • Notify management of deficiencies, required repairs, or replacements encountered during cleaning tasks.

Health, Safety, and Quality Compliance

  • Follow company procedures, policies, HSE standards, and the Quality Management System while performing tasks.
  • Maintain a high level of precaution when cleaning costly or delicate articles.
  • Ensure all cleaning checklists are updated in designated locations as per agreed standards.
