General Accountant

Full job description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive General Accountant to join our finance team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in maintaining accurate financial records, preparing financial statements, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations. Your expertise will facilitate informed decision-making and contribute to the overall financial health of the company.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and maintain accurate financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements in accordance with IFRS
  • Manage the month-end closing process, including reconciliations of accounts and resolving discrepancies
  • Perform detailed account analysis and prepare supporting documentation for audits
  • Assist in the development and implementation of accounting policies and procedures to improve processes and compliance
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide financial insights and support strategic initiatives
  • Monitor and report on financial performance, identifying trends and providing actionable recommendations
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local tax regulations

Required and Preferred Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • 2+ years of experience in accounting or finance roles
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting
  • Proficiency in accounting ERP software (e.g., 1C:Enterprise, SAP, or equivalent)
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

Preferred:

  • Experience with financial forecasting and budgeting
  • Familiarity with ERP systems and advanced Excel skills

Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies

  • Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Excel
  • Knowledge of financial reporting systems and internal controls
  • Ability to analyze financial data and prepare reports
