Overview Of The Role:
The Forklift Operator plays a crucial role in supporting warehouse operations by efficiently handling materials using forklifts and other equipment. Key responsibilities include loading, unloading, and organizing stock, assisting with shipping preparation, and maintaining warehouse order. Success in this role requires strong attention to safety, accuracy, and the ability to work collaboratively within the warehouse team. The role directly supports logistical operations and requires adherence to company procedures and safety regulations.
What You Will Do:
- Safely operate forklifts to load, unload, move, stack, and organize stock.
- Offload and load containers and delivery vehicles.
- Transport pallets between receiving, storage, buffer, and picking areas.
- Assist with palletizing and preparation of goods for outbound shipments.
- Support internal picking and replenishment activities.
- Check incoming stock for accuracy and report discrepancies.
- Conduct inventory counts, stock checks, and stock takes.
- Ensure goods are stored correctly and safely.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the warehouse and receiving areas.
- Conduct daily forklift inspections and report mechanical issues.
- Comply with all health, safety, and company procedures at all times.
Required Skills To Be Successful:
- Strong safety awareness
- Good hand-eye coordination
- Team player with excellent communication skills
- Basic understanding of inventory systems is advantageous
What Qualifies You For The Role:
- Valid forklift operator license is mandatory.
- Ability to lift a minimum of 25 kg.
- Previous experience in a warehouse or distribution center is preferred.
- Knowledge of product handling and storage procedures.
- Good attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Willingness to work shifts, weekends, or overtime if required.
