Full job description
Job Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Fire Alarm Apprentices are responsible for assisting foreman and fitters in the installation of fire protection systems
- Service of fire alarm systems and other components associated fire protection systems
- Properly maintaining documentation of work performed
- Compliance of company policies and procedures
- Maintaining a clean and safe work environment
- Moving and/or carrying equipment and tools, weighing up to 75 lbs
- Participation in technician’s on-call rotation schedule
- Ability to perform assigned work in unusual and occasionally difficult positions; i.e. lift equipment, ladders, scaffolding
- Distribute the material and accessories from the truck to the designated material lay down area
- Maintain and organize lay down areas
- Clean-up job site
- Clean-up tools
- Understand Allied Fire Protection’s Safety program, SDS book, Hazardous Communication Program, policies and procedures. Helpers must know where all related safety documentation is at all times on each project.
- Sprinkler apprentices are expected to continually make progress in their fire protection education with tools provided by Allied Fire Protection
- Other duties as assigned
Knowledge:
- High School diploma or GED preferred but not required; or related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Sprinkler Apprentices are also enrolled and making progress in the AFSA’s Apprenticeship Program
Work Experience:
- No direct fire protection experience required
