About the job

Based at the Emirates Palace Mandarin Oriental, Abu Dhabi within the Concierge Department, the Doorman is responsible for providing a friendly and caring welcome to all guests at the hotel entrance according to our service standards in order to ensure guest satisfaction. The Doorman reports to the Assistant Concierge Manager.

As a Doorman, you will be responsible for the following duties:

  • Welcomes the guests upon their arrival in a friendly and caring manner according to the Emirates Palace Mandarin Oriental, Abu Dhabi standards and opens hotel door for all incoming guests.
  • Opens car door for all guests coming out of a taxi or car, aids with their luggage and brings it to the hotel in an efficient and timely manner to ensure guest satisfaction.
  • Handles guest requests in a polite and efficient manner such as calling a taxi or giving directions, refers requests to relevant staff if needed to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Keeps abreast on hotel products and services as well as on tourist and business traveling information that may be of any interest to our guests.
  • Any other duties, which may be assigned to you from time to time as directed by your Supervisor or Manager.

As Doorman, we expect from you:

  • Previous experience in the same role in luxury property, resort experience is a plus
  • Additional training or certification in hospitality, customer service, or security is an advantage
  • Basic proficiency in English (both spoken and written) is required; knowledge of additional languages is a plus
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, problem solving, customer service and professional attitude
  • Ensures adherence to hotel safety protocols, including monitoring packages, vehicles, and luggage brought into the premises
