Data Analyst

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • We are seeking a highly analytical and technically proficient Petroleum Data Analyst to support our Well Engineering operations. This role is pivotal in transforming raw operational data into actionable insights that drive safety, efficiency, and optimization in upstream oil and gas activities.
  • Analyze well integrity, drilling, and production data to support engineering decisions.
  • Develop interactive dashboards and visualizations using Spotfire.
  • Build and maintain Python/SQL pipelines for data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL).
  • Perform data mining and integrate live field data from sensors and operational systems.
  • Conduct statistical analysis and predictive modeling to identify trends and anomalies.
  • Collaborate with engineers, geoscientists, and field teams to ensure data relevance and accuracy.
  • Create detailed reports and presentations for stakeholders and leadership.
  • Maintain data quality and governance across platforms.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

  • Experience in data analytics, preferably in the oil & gas or energy sector.
  • Proficiency in Spotfire for advanced data visualization and analysis.
  • Strong coding skills in Python and SQL.
  • Advanced Excel capabilities (pivot tables, macros, VBA).
  • Experience with Well Integrity Management Systems (WIMS) or similar platforms.
  • Familiarity with upstream data sources (e.g., well logs, production databases).
  • Bachelor’s degree in Petroleum Engineering, Data Science, Computer Science, or related field.
  • Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Experience with production/reservoir modeling tools (e.g., PROSPER, MBAL, OFM).
  • Knowledge of geospatial analysis, machine learning, or AI-driven forecasting.
  • Certifications such as Certified Petroleum Data Analyst (CPDA) or COGA.
  • Familiarity with energy regulations and sustainability practices.
