Job Summary:
The Construction Worker Helper assists skilled construction workers in carrying out tasks on construction sites. The role involves supporting the team with manual labor, material handling, and maintaining a safe and organized work environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist skilled workers with construction tasks, including lifting, carrying, and positioning materials.
- Operate basic hand tools and equipment under supervision.
- Clean and prepare construction sites by removing debris and hazards.
- Load and unload construction materials, tools, and equipment.
- Mix, pour, and apply basic construction materials (e.g., cement, mortar) as directed.
- Follow safety guidelines and ensure compliance with workplace safety regulations.
- Assist in measuring and marking work areas as instructed.
- Report any accidents, hazards, or equipment malfunctions to supervisors.
- Support team in completing projects on schedule.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Physical stamina and strength to perform manual labor.
- Basic knowledge of construction tools and materials is a plus.
- Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team.
- Awareness of safety procedures on construction sites.
- No formal education required, but basic literacy is preferred.
Work Conditions:
- Outdoor work in various weather conditions.
- Physically demanding tasks, including lifting and standing for long periods.
- Potential exposure to dust, noise, and construction hazards (PPE provided).
Career Progression:
- With experience and training, may advance to skilled construction worker roles such as Mason, Carpenter, or Electrician’s Assistant.
