We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Commis I to join our culinary team in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. As a Commis I, you will play a crucial role in supporting our kitchen operations and contributing to the creation of exceptional dining experiences for our guests.
- Assist in the daily preparation of ingredients and mise en place for your assigned station
- Stock and organize kitchen supplies, ensuring adequate inventory for smooth operations
- Operate and maintain kitchen equipment safely and efficiently
- Follow recipes and cooking techniques as directed by senior kitchen staff
- Assist in the preparation and plating of dishes according to established standards
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to food safety and hygiene protocols
- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely and high-quality food production
- Support other kitchen stations as needed during peak hours
- Participate in regular kitchen meetings and training sessions to enhance culinary skills
- Contribute ideas for menu improvements and cost-saving measures
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; previous kitchen experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of food preparation, presentation, and safety principles (including HACCP)
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment, with physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays
- Excellent teamwork, communication skills, and willingness to take direction from senior staff
- Basic math skills and ability to multitask in a dynamic kitchen setting
- Passion for cooking and commitment to delivering high-quality dishes and guest experiences
