Job Description


We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Commis 1 to join our culinary team in Ras Al-Khaimah, United Arab Emirates. As a Commis 1, you will play a crucial role in supporting the kitchen operations and contributing to the creation of exceptional dining experiences for our guests.

  • Assist the Chef de Partie with mise-en-place, food preparation, and service
  • Follow recipes accurately and maintain consistent food quality and portion sizes
  • Complete daily checklists for mise-en-place and food storage
  • Collaborate with the Chef de Partie to write daily requisitions for ingredients and supplies
  • Maintain a clean and organized work station, adhering to food safety and hygiene standards
  • Attend daily meetings with the Chef de Cuisine and other kitchen staff
  • Monitor and report any equipment malfunctions to the Chef de Cuisine
  • Maintain accurate HACCP records in compliance with regulations
  • Communicate effectively with team members to ensure smooth kitchen operations
  • Assist in other kitchen duties as assigned by senior staff

Qualifications

  • Completion of a kitchen apprenticeship or chef’s training course (minimum one year)
  • 1-2 years of experience in a five-star international chain hotel or equivalent high-end establishment
  • Proficiency in reading and executing recipes with a strong knowledge of cooking techniques
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team
  • Physical stamina to work long hours in a fast-paced kitchen environment
  • In-depth knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and work schedules
  • Goal-oriented mindset with a focus on efficiency and quality
  • Customer-focused approach to food preparation and presentation
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a diverse kitchen team
