As a Catering Van Driver you are responsible for safely and efficiently transport food, beverages, and catering equipment to designated locations while maintaining high standards of hygiene, customer service, and professionalism. You need to ensure timely delivery, proper handling of goods, and represents the company in a positive and professional manner.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Vehicle Operation & Maintenance
- Drive company catering vans safely and in compliance with traffic laws.
- Conduct pre- and post-shift vehicle inspections (fuel, oil, tires, temperature controls, etc.).
- Report any vehicle issues, damages, or required maintenance promptly.
- Keep the vehicle clean and organized at all times.
2. Food Handling & Delivery
- Load and unload food, beverages, and equipment carefully to prevent damage or contamination.
- Ensure temperature control for hot and cold items during transport.
- Deliver orders to venues, offices, or events on time and set up where required.
- Verify delivery contents against order sheets or manifests.
3. Customer Service
- Represent the company professionally when interacting with clients and event staff.
- Handle deliveries courteously, addressing any issues or special requests promptly.
- Obtain client signatures or proof of delivery as required.
4. Health, Safety & Hygiene
- Follow all company food safety and hygiene procedures (HACCP standards if applicable).
- Wear the appropriate uniform and personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Adhere to company health and safety policies at all times.
5. Administration & Communication
- Complete delivery logs, timesheets, and mileage reports accurately.
- Communicate effectively with the catering and logistics teams regarding schedules, delays, or changes.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Valid driver’s license
- Clean driving record.
- Previous experience in catering, hospitality, or delivery driving preferred.
- Basic knowledge of food safety and handling procedures.
- Good communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to lift and carry heavy items safely.
- Punctual, reliable, and well-organized.
