Full job description

A cashier’s main responsibility is to handle financial transactions and provide customer service at the point of sale. This includes tasks like scanning items, processing payments (cash, credit, etc.), issuing receipts, and providing change. They also answer customer inquiries, handle returns and exchanges, and maintain a clean and organized checkout area.

Key Responsibilities:

  • ⁠Transaction Processing: Accurately scanning items, processing payments, and providing receipts.
  • ⁠Customer Service: Greeting customers, answering questions, and resolving issues related to purchases or store policies.
  • ⁠Cash Handling: Managing cash registers, balancing tills, and handling cash, credit, and debit card transactions.
  • ⁠Order Fulfillment: Bagging or wrapping purchased items, and processing returns or exchanges.
  • Store Operations: Maintaining a clean and organized checkout area, potentially assisting with stocking or other tasks.
  • Promotional Activities: Cross-selling products and introducing new items to customers.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Basic Math Skills: Essential for handling cash transactions and making change.
  • ⁠⁠Customer Service Skills: Being friendly, helpful, and patient with customers.
  • ⁠⁠Attention to Detail: Ensuring accuracy in pricing, counting money, and handling transactions.
  • ⁠⁠Communication Skills: Clearly communicating with customers and colleagues.
  • ⁠⁠Cash Handling Experience: Familiarity with cash registers and point-of-sale systems.
  • ⁠⁠Ability to Work under Pressure: Handling a high volume of transactions during busy periods.
  • Candidate from Tamil Nadu will be given preference. (Native – Tamil Speaker)

Immediate Joiner and candidate in Visit Visa / Cancelled Visa / Sponsor Visa will be given preference.
