Job Summary

The Cashier is responsible for handling cash and bank transactions, maintaining accurate financial records, and supporting the accounts department with daily financial operations. The role requires a high level of accuracy, integrity, and coordination with internal teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Receive, verify, and record cash, cheque, and electronic payments
  • Issue official receipts and maintain proper documentation
  • Handle daily cash collections and ensure timely bank deposits
  • Maintain cash book and reconcile daily cash balances
  • Assist in preparing daily, weekly, and monthly cash reports
  • Coordinate with the accounts team for posting transactions in the accounting system
  • Process petty cash transactions and maintain petty cash records
  • Ensure compliance with company financial policies and procedures
  • Safeguard cash, cheques, and financial documents
  • Support audits by providing required records and explanations

Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Commerce, Accounting, or a related field
  • Proven experience as a cashier or accounts assistant (preferred)
  • Basic knowledge of accounting principles
  • Proficiency in MS Excel and accounting software
  • Strong numerical and reconciliation skills
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Honest, reliable, and able to handle confidential information

Experience

  • 1–3 years of relevant experience in cashiering or accounts (preferred)
