Job Title: Butcher Department: Fresh Food / Meat Section Reports To: Store Supervisor / Department In charge
Job Summary:
Responsible for cutting, trimming, and preparing meat products according to company standards, ensuring quality, hygiene, and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Cut, trim, debone, and prepare various types of meat (beef, mutton, poultry, etc.).
- Maintain proper hygiene and safety standards at all times.
- Display and label meat products correctly with prices and dates.
- Weigh, package, and price meat items accurately.
- Inspect meat for quality and freshness before processing.
- Clean and sanitize work areas, tools, and equipment daily.
- Assist customers by providing information on cuts, prices, and cooking methods.
- Monitor stock levels and inform the supervisor for replenishment.
- Follow FIFO (First In, First Out) inventory method to reduce wastage.
- Adhere to food safety and health regulations.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a butcher or meat cutter.
- Knowledge of meat preparation, cutting techniques, and food safety standards.
- Physical stamina and ability to handle knives and equipment safely.
- Basic communication skills in English.
- Team player with a responsible attitude.
